Education key to successful ITAR compliance

In the field of PCB manufacturing, trade association IPC is promoting education about ITAR and federal export regulations relevant to the industry.

IPC realizes that because PCBs are not on the United States Munitions List, that some may think that exports are not controlled. IPC’s program of education is letting manufacturers know that items do not have to be on the USML, particularly if they are manufactured according to a military specifications.

Aerospace industry leaders must also avoid the same trap, and get trained on the issues involved with following the law on ITAR and export controls.
